IMPaCT Policies

  • If IMPaCT salary award holders are taking maternity and/or parental leave (in accordance with their local institution’s policies), they are allowed to request that the award paid from IMPaCT be placed “on hold” for the duration of the leave. In this case, the award would resume when they return from leave.

IMPaCT must be notified, at minimum 30 days in advance, of the leave start date. For further information regarding parental leave planning and requirements, please contact IMPaCT at impactrials@gmail.com. Plans for reintegration into the curriculum will be decided on a case-by-case basis dependent on the timing of the leave; IMPaCT is committed to providing support and ensuring that learners have the necessary resources to successfully complete the training curriculum upon their return.

  • If IMPaCT salary award holders are taking a medical or a family caregiver leave (in accordance with their local institution’s policies), they are allowed to request that the award paid from IMPaCT be placed “on hold” for the duration of the leave. Awards will resume upon their return from leave. For further information regarding leave planning and requirements, please contact IMPaCT at impactrials@gmail.com.

  • IMPaCT salary award holders are required to inform IMPaCT, via email at impactrials@gmail.com, if they intend to defer acceptance of their salary award due to parental, medical, or family caregiver leave. Salary awards can be deferred by one year due to these circumstances. If the IMPaCT training program is not running the following year, a deferral is not possible, and alternatively the award can be declined.
